What Does It Mean to Be Saved?
Being saved means having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, recognizing Him as your Lord and Savior. It’s about acknowledging that we are all sinners in need of forgiveness and that Jesus, through His death and resurrection, has paid the price for our sins. As the Bible says in Romans 3:23, "For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God." Salvation is a gift from God, received through faith, not something we can earn by our own efforts or good deeds. John 3:16 reminds us of this incredible truth: "For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." By trusting in Jesus and repenting of our sins, we are made new, reconciled with God, and given the promise of eternal life. This is the beginning of a lifelong journey of following Christ, growing in faith, and experiencing the peace, joy, and purpose that come from knowing Him.
